How to configure DNS GlobalNames zone in Windows Server 2008

DNS GlobalNames zone is a new feature introduced in Windows Server 2008 to the DNS Server service. GlobalNames zone or GNZ is used to provide single label name resolution to an Active Directory environment that is transitioning from WINS to an all DNS name resolution system. Names in the GNZ are statically configured CNAME records that hosts in any domain in the environment can query and access regardless of where they exist within the forest.
